A new resource: The Camphill Research Network
You may have read on this website, in our newsletter Resnews, or in the media generally (BBC, Private Eye, Northern Echo etc.), of events at Botton Village and other Camphill sites. If you are seeking more information on Camphill and indeed on intential communities generally, you may find a new online resource, the website of The Camphill Research Network , useful and interesting.
The Camphill Research Network describes itself as “an informal network for anyone interested in research related to Camphill communities and the wider intentional community movement”. It was founded in August 2014 by Maria Lyons, with the support of a small group of community members and academics. The Network is a not-for-profit initiative and all work to set up its website has been carried out on a voluntary basis. It is keen to have more contibutors, members and contacts.
Its website offers an archive of previously published research papers; also items under its News and Discussion menus. See for example the latest (Dec 2014) Discussion blog item, entitled “Developmental Dilemmas? Intentional communities and the differing responses to change” which begins with the observation “The biggest challenge facing intentional communities is not setting them up but keeping them going.”
