The Bill would:
- Improve the availability and flexibility of care available locally
- Ensure disabled people and carers can access services that allow them to stay in, or return to work
- Ensure that carers are identified earlier by GPs, schools and universities and directed to support and advice
The Bill enjoys support from MPs of all parties, and is supported by national organisations such Carers UK and local groups such Care for the Carers (East Sussex)
