As our members know we have always sought to promote the security and welfare of people with learning disabilities and their families.

We work in conjunction with all concerned to secure an environment and facilities, to enable a full and happy life, with the type of care most appropriate to their needs and abilities.

Feedback from our members, both parents and siblings of people with learning disabilities, is that they worry about what will happen to their family member (often adults requiring significant care) in the future.

We have now been successful in obtaining some external funding to pilot this approach and set up a Befriending project.  Now just 6 months into the project we have trained new volunteers whom area ready to support a family.

We are seeking more families to help us with our project.

Would you like to be matched to one of our volunteers to connect with either face to face or remotely?

Please get in touch with us if you would like to find out more about this project which is nationwide via
