Parent Carer Wellbeing Conference

10th May 2023

Greenwood Centre, Kentish Town

Dr Joanna Griffin (www.affinityhub.uk) and Dr Lisa Greenspan (www.thelapis.co.uk) are organising a Parent Carer Wellbeing conference on 10th May 2023, 9.30am-3pm, in London at the Greenwood Centre, NW5 1LB.

The conference is aimed at parent carers to provide them with information, strategies and tips on looking after their own emotional wellbeing. Parent carers are defined as parents (or primary caregivers) of children, young people and adults who are disabled. It is open to anyone whatever the age or disability of their family member.

It is well acknowledged that parent carers face additional challenges to their own wellbeing.  Often everyone’s focus is on the child and the parent’s own emotional needs become neglected.  In this conference we will focus attention on the parent themselves including:

The conference will also provide opportunities to connect with other parent carers and those who ‘get it’.

Workshops will include strategies from mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy and self-massage techniques to calm your nervous system. The information is supported by evidence-based research studies and couched in lived experience.

For further information please use the contact form on www.affinityhub.uk to leave your email address to receive further updates or follow @affinityhub.uk on social media.  Booking will be available from February 2023. The event will be free to attend but registration is required.
