A recent article in the Daily Telegraph analysed official figures released by the Office for National Statistics, under the the headline Patients starve and die of thirst on hospital wards“.

Whilst the article begins by citing events within NHS hospitals, it goes on to report the analysis of deaths within the Care Home sector, and is thus well worth reading in full. A warning: this does not make for easy reading. One obvious conclusion is that there is a massive task facing the Care Quality Commission as it emerges from its own period of crisis.
