Following his election victory, David Cameron confirmed a number of ministerial appointments on May 14th.
Obviously, the appointments of most interest to Rescare members, carers and people with a learning disability will be those within the Ministry of Justice, the Department for Work and Pensions, the Department of Health, and the Department for Education.
The following two links provide an overview of the appointments and the ministers now in office:

Listing of appointments by department
One key new appointment is that of Justin Tomlinson, takes on the role of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Disabled People) at the Department for Work and Pensions, replacing Mark Harper.
We have also been reminded that results in Scotland mean that the All Party Parliamentary Group on Learning Disability (APPGLD) has lost its long-standing chair, Tom Clarke, and will have to be ‘restructured’. The links to the APPLGD on the website of Mencap (who have a ‘symbiotic’ relationship with the committee) are currently dead.
Finally a reminder to anyone who, like Rescare, uses the services of ‘They Work for You’ to monitor Parliamentary activity (speeches in the Commons and Lords, ministerial statements, oral and written answers etc.). We will have to change some of the persons whose activities and statements we follow.
