Thanks to a further Awards for All grant, in 2023 we have set up a pilot advocacy scheme to help Rescare members who have been in touch with our services and who seem to need a one to one service to help guide them through a particularly difficult problem. The contact is mostly by phone or virtual meetings.
It is designed to offer support on one issue or set of issues, and not intended to have a long-term basis. Possible issues based on our member’s experience could be:
- Care packages
- Emotional and coping support
- Crises in provision of care
To start with clearly we will have limited capacity and will be evaluating as we go along.
When members are referred to the service Rescare will fund the initial assessment session(s).
Users can be assured that their advocate is trained and supervised to a very high standard and that service is confidential and will always operate in full consultation with the member.
