Disabled children and families have a right to health and care support to live a good quality life, and have the same opportunities as other families.

But this simply isn’t happening.

Research from the Disabled Children’s Partnership (DCP) shows disabled children’s health and care is being underfunded by £2.1 billion. Families with disabled children are struggling to access basic services they are entitled to, like speech and language therapy, breaks from caring, and equipment like hoists and wheelchairs.

The pandemic has just made the situation worse, with nearly three in four disabled children seeing their progress managing their condition regress as vital services were further restricted.
